The number of new corona cases has increased by 1,596 in the past 24 hours, the RIVM reports. That is 691 less than the weekly average, which brings this new number to 2287 newly discovered corona infections per day.
On Saturday, the weekly average was still at 2441. Then, after an adjustment, 2145 new infections were added, previously 2160 were noted.
The number of deaths rose by three last 24 hours, from nine the day before. That is not to say that all those people have died in the past 24 hours, because it takes a while before the death of a corona patient is registered.
