Number of new corona infections decreased by 1192, also fewer hospital admissions | Inland

In 24 hours, 47 patients died from the effects of the coronavirus. On Saturday there were 38, Friday, on the first day of the new year, 98. When a corona patient dies, this is sometimes only passed on after a while.

Regional infections

Most new infections, 594, were registered in the safety region of Central and West Brabant. 427 new infections were reported in the Utrecht region and 413 in Twente. In the safety region Noord-Holland Noord, 402 infections were added and in Brabant-Zuidoost 393.

249 new corona cases were registered in Amsterdam, The Hague followed with 167 new infections, Rotterdam with 124, Breda 121 and Almere 113.

Since the outbreak began, 821,189 people have tested positive for the coronavirus and 11,612 people have died.

Hospital figures

During the past 241 corona patients have been admitted to the nursing wards of hospitals. That is 7 less than yesterday. 29 patients were admitted to intensive care, 8 fewer than the day before. There are now a total of 2,710 people with corona in the hospital. In the hospitals, the occupancy remained almost the same, because 2,703 corona patients were in the hospital on Saturday.
