Number of new corona infections and hospital admissions dropped sharply again | Inland

44 deaths have been reported. That’s not to say that all of these people died in the last 24 hours. This information is sometimes passed on with some delay. 73 deaths were reported between Friday morning and Saturday morning.

This week (since Monday) there has been a decrease in the number of new cases every day except Friday. Then the RIVM reported an increase of just under 300. A total of 50,311 positive tests and 570 deaths were reported this week (Monday to Sunday). In that period last week, there were 68,589 and 389 respectively.

The safety regions with the highest numbers of new infections on Sunday are Rotterdam-Rijnmond (665), Utrecht (463) and Central and West Brabant (439). Most new cases came to light in the municipalities of Rotterdam (375), Amsterdam (332) and The Hague (144).

Hospital admissions

The number of corona patients in hospitals has fallen to 2,295 over the past 24 hours. That is 89 fewer than on Saturday, when 2,384 people were in hospital with corona. This has been announced by the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS). It is the fifth day in a row that the number of hospital admissions has fallen.

There are 1,697 corona patients on the nursing wards, 85 fewer than Saturday.

In intensive care there are 598 people with corona, 4 fewer than Saturday, and 431 people with other conditions, 35 fewer than Saturday. The total IC occupancy thus amounts to 1029 patients, a decrease of 39.

“The number of Covid patients in the clinic is falling rapidly. That is beneficial and offers scope for regular care, ”says Ernst Kuipers of the LCPS. In the past 24 hours, 12 patients have moved between regions, 7 of whom are IC patients.
