Slightly more people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the past seven days than in the week before. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) received 17,575 reports. That is an increase of 1.5 percent in a week.

At the end of last week, the number of new cases rose. There were two days with more than 2800 positive tests. That was the highest level in almost three weeks. In recent days, the number of new cases has fallen slightly again, which ultimately limited growth.
The number of hospital admissions hardly changed. At least 415 corona patients were so sick last week that they had to be admitted. Of them, 97 ended up in intensive care. The week before, 426 people had been admitted, 97 of whom were placed in intensive care.
