The State of São Paulo dropped from 10 thousand hospitalized by COVID-19 and, for the first time in the year, the moving average of new admissions is below one thousand, being today 990.

There are 9,745 hospitalized this Thursday (5), totaling 4,661 in the ward and 5,084 in Intensive Care beds. At the peak of the second wave of the pandemic, there was almost three times the number of patients hospitalized by COVID-19, which reached more than 31,000 patients.
In total, more than 3,781,155 people had the disease and are now recovered, with 429,257 being hospitalized and discharged. The falls are a reflection of the advance of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 and of the prevention and fight against the disease strategies.
Since last year, the state of São Paulo has registered 4,094,211 cases of COVID-19 and 140,135 deaths. The occupancy rate of ICU beds in the state today is 47.2% and in Greater São Paulo it is 43.2%.
