AMSTELVEEN The number of officially detected infections with the coronavirus (Vovid-19) among residents of Amstelveen has still stood at 3 since Friday. That stream Sunday afternoon from the daily update of the RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment). GGD Amsterdam-Amstelland announced on Saturday evening that yesterday 31 people had been tested positive for the corona virus in this region. The total number of people tested positive almost doubled in one day in this region, reaching 68. About a third of the new patients were hospitalized.
Another 11 people were tested positive for the corona virus in the Amsterdam-Amstelland region on Sunday. This brought the total number of people tested positive in this region to 79. Of the 11 new patients, no one was hospitalized.
The test results arrive at the GGD throughout the day and the service publishes the latest state of affairs once a day.
The number of positively tested people in the region peaked on Saturday. Eight people were tested positive on Friday, Thursday twelve, Wednesday six and Tuesday three. .
The Amsterdam-Amstelland region also includes the municipalities of Aalsmeer, Amstelveen, Diemen, Ouder-Amstel and Uithoorn. According to the new RIVM overview, new infections have only been added among residents of Amsterdam. A total of 1,135 inhabitants of the Netherlands were diagnosed with coronavris. The whereabouts of 58 patients in the overview are still unknown.
