What I don’t understand is that people who complain about this can’t come to the conclusion themselves that they don’t need everything. You never had the whole offer and you won’t get it now (not everything is available in the Netherlands). If costs are an issue, you switch between services. When we only had Netflix, they didn’t have everything and certainly not always. You could sometimes watch Star Wars, but certainly not always when you wanted to.
For a basic offer you simply spend less money than TV via cable.
You will never get a single offer in TV/film land and you wouldn’t want to. Simply because you then go back to the situation from before where 1 provider determines everything and can charge high prices because there is/was no competition (read: cable TV).
I bought Disney+ when it cost €70/year, peanuts imho! Now with the rest it’s $90/year, still cheaper than Netflix. Amazon for €3/month… I used to spend more on the video store, not to mention what I spent per year on DVDs, sure they are still on the shelf, but how often do you actually touch them?
