Hospitalization incidence increased in Bavaria
The number of corona-infected patients in all wards has increased: According to the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) A total of 763 hospitalized corona cases were reported in Bavaria in the seven days up to February 7th. The day before the value was 701 cases. There is sometimes massive criticism of the hospitalization incidence, since the values can be significantly distorted due to the delay in reporting and the way the cases are counted.
The authorities also show the hospitalizations as an incidence value – the number of corona-infected patients who came to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days is published. This seven-day hospitalization incidence in Bavaria was 5.8 on Wednesday (LGL dashboard, as of February 9, 8 a.m.). For comparison: On Tuesday the value was still 5.3.
The RKI gives the nationwide hospitalization incidence on Wednesday at 6.02 (Tuesday: 5.60). However, these may also include people with a positive corona test who have another main illness.
Hospital traffic lights in Bavaria would continue to be green
The Bavarian hospital traffic light, which was introduced in autumn and was removed from the Corona regulation in November, would still be green with the current figures.
For the yellow level, the number of Covid intensive care patients in the Free State would have to be 450 or higher. The number of people admitted to hospital for or with Covid-19 within seven days would have to be above the 1,200 threshold.
