The visit of a corona-infected Sinterklaas to a care home in Mol, Belgium, has meanwhile claimed the lives of 27 residents. A week ago, the death toll was still thirteen.
The man who turned out to be infected with the corona virus is a son of one of the residents. He went through all the rooms to give everyone a present.
Shortly after his visit, the first residents started to develop symptoms. Dozens of elderly people and employees became infected with corona. In recent days, the health of most residents has improved significantly, reports the municipality of Mol.
A sister of one of the deceased residents has filed a complaint with the Agency for Care and Health. This can then initiate an investigation into how the institution dealt with the visit of Saint Nicholas.
