Monterrey.- As part of prevention actions, the Ministry of Health of Nuevo León has requested vaccination against the human papilloma virus (HPV), available free of charge.
Alma Rosa Marroquín, head of the state agency, asked to take advantage of the opportunity, since it is a vaccine that prevents the development of tumors related to the virus.
The doses will be aimed at girls in the 1st and 2nd grade of secondary school, 13 and 14 year olds who do not attend school, and women between 11 and 49 who live with HIV.
It is reported that this scheme is applied in health centers, IMSS and ISSSTE clinics, and CAPASITS (Treatment Center for the Prevention and Treatment of HIV and Other Sexually Transmitted Infections) is a single dose.
Similarly, it has been reported that, in order to have greater coverage among the population, brigades are also being carried out in schools, since the HPV vaccination campaign will only be in effect until December 9th.
“We have a vaccine that is the only one capable of preventing us from cervical and uterine cancer, and we have the possibility of applying it, in addition to being safe and effective, it is expensive, a great effort has been made to make it available.
“If we have a vaccine that can avoid or prevent the development of cancer, we must apply it, it is very simple, it has no side effects and it protects us… we have time to do it, it is a prevention strategy, please bring your daughters to get vaccinated” , reiterated the Secretary of Health.
For minors, it is required to present themselves accompanied by their father, mother or guardian with a copy of the CURP and to sign the consent form.
