Zelensky called on the world to respond to possible preparations for the use of nuclear weapons

The Ukrainian president urged the world not to wait until Russia launches a nuclear attack on Ukraine, but to launch a preemptive strike.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said NATO and the entire international community should envisage pre-emptive strikes in case the Russian Federation attempts to use nuclear weapons. He stated it during online communication at the Australian Lowy Institute on Thursday 6 October.

“What should NATO do? Eliminate the possibility that Russia uses nuclear weapons. But what is important, I once again appeal to the international community, as it was before February 24: pre-emptive attacks so that they (the Russians – ed. ) know what will happen to them, and not vice versa – wait for Russia’s nuclear attacks, then to say, “Oh, you are so, well, keep it away from us!”, Zelensky said, stressing the need to review the response procedure .

Recall that on September 21, in his video message to the Russians, Putin said so all means of destruction, including nuclearit will be applied in case of a threat to the territorial integrity of Russia and that “this is not a bluff”.

The day before, NATO had announced it prepared a plan in case of a nuclear attack. They noticed that they are ready for any development of the situation and are ready to act quickly and hard.
