Tehran refuses that the new nuclear agreement does not restrict its ballistic program
A senior Iranian official said on Thursday that the United States “has no will” to reach a solid nuclear deal, as evidenced by its “unacceptable proposals” at the talks currently being held in Vienna.
The chairman of Iran’s powerful Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, said on Twitter that “the United States’ approach to Iran’s principled demands, coupled with their unreasonable offers and the unwarranted pressure they exerting themselves to reach a hasty agreement, shows that the United States is not interested in a solid agreement that would satisfy both parties”.
“In the absence of an American political decision, the talks are getting more complicated hour by hour,” he added.
Iran’s Nour News, which is affiliated with Iran’s top security body, said it was out of the question for officials in Tehran that the new nuclear deal would restrict Iran’s missile program.
For their part, world powers have said that it is now up to Iran to make the decisions necessary for the conclusion of an agreement, and warned that the time to achieve this is limited.
The talks in Vienna aim to bring Washington back into the pact, which left it unilaterally in 2018, and to bring Tehran back to respecting its commitments, broken in response to the reinstatement of American sanctions. The United States participates indirectly in the negotiations.
