The Monthly Indicator of Economic Activity (Imacec) fell 2% annually in May, recording the worst monthly record since last December and its fourth consecutive contraction. This result was explained by the slowdown in mining and, to a lesser extent, in commerce, which is correlated to the performance of the automotive market.
For these reasons, sales of new light and medium vehicles slowed down during June in almost all regions, except in Tarapacá, which reached a growth of 13.9% in June and accumulated an increase of more than 8% so far in 2023. .
In relation to the Ñuble Region, the fall in the month of June was -49.3%, with only 301 units sold. Ñuble is the third region of the country to register the highest drop in sales.
