Nubia has announced RedMagic 8 Pro and 8 Pro+. The models are equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and an active cooling system. The Pro version has a 6,000mAh battery and can fast charge with 80W, the 8 Pro + has a 5,000mAh battery and can fast charge with 165W.
Both models measure 164×76.4×8.9 mm and have according to the Chinese manufacturer the same 6.8-inch AMOLED panel. That panel has a resolution of 1116×2480 pixels. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and the screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz. At the top, and also below the screen, is a selfie camera with a resolution of 16 megapixels. There is also a fingerprint scanner. It is also located below the screen.
There are three cameras on the back of RedMagic 8 Pro and 8 Pro+. The main camera will have a 50 megapixel sensor, while the ultra wide angle camera will have to settle for 8 megapixels. The third camera has a macro lens and has 2 megapixels. Both devices have a USB-C charging port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Devices will receive support for Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E.
Nubia has equipped the 8 Pro and 8 Pro+ with an integrated fan that can run at a maximum of 20,000 revolutions per minute. The devices are also equipped with a large 3D vapor chamber to help cool down the smartphone when needed. There are also touch-sensitive shoulder buttons for players to use.
The Nubia 8 Pro is available in three variants. A version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, a variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and a version with 512GB of storage but with 12GB of RAM. According to GSMArena the starting price of this device is around 540 euros.
The 8Pro+ comes standard with 12GB and 256GB of storage. The two more expensive variants come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage. The starting price of the 8Pro+ would be around 700 euros. First off, both devices are only available in black. A variant with a transparent back will also be available to order in a few months. It is unclear when and for what amounts Nubia will offer these devices for sale in Europe.
