Yogyakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Manager (PWNU) Yogyakarta Special Region revealed that there were positive results from their meeting with the leader of the Aolia Mosque Congregation, Raden Ibnu Hajar Pranolo alias Grandma Benuin Gunungkidul.
This meeting was held post-Eid al-Fitr according to the Aolia Mosque Congregation on Friday (5/4), much earlier than the government and Muhammadiyah’s predicted Eid, Wednesday (10/4).
“Thank God, Mbah Ibnu Hajar’s clarification and mitigation gathering went smoothly,” said Chairman of the Bahtsul Masail Nahdlatul Ulama Institute (LBM NU) DIY Fajar Abdul Bashir in his official statement received, Monday (8/4).
From this meeting, Fajar saw that Mbah Benu was an open person and easy to communicate with. It is not difficult for him to receive input.
However, he said, the belief in ‘contact’ with Allah cannot be lost 100 percent and needs to be mitigated frequently so that it can return to sharia in its entirety.
“Even though it’s a bit difficult to explain, because apart from age, his hearing is also reduced, thank God Mbah Ibnu Hajar has started surrender. “I think once or twice is not enough, but it needs to be explained several times,” he said.
If Mbah Benu’s belief is difficult to eradicate in the future, Fajar suggests that it is a matter of personal interest and there is no need to invite other people.
Fajar also advised Mbah Benu, if there are people who are still confused, to follow the NU and Government regulations, instead of following the ‘inner contact’ ijtihad.
“And thank God, Mbah Ibnu Hajar agreed on these things. For other things, we did not find any irregularities, such as prayers, recited dhikr, and other Shari’a which are still the same as Shari’a in general,” said Fajar.
About spiritual attainment
Fajar also revealed the reason why Mbah Benu set the start and end of Ramadan five days apart from other Muslims.
Based on previous reports, the determination of the start and end of Ramadan for the Aolia congregation is based on inner contact with Allah.
“Which he had said wushul (to) God,” said Fajar.
According to him, wushul illallah or the spiritual achievement of following the divine path that Mbah Benu obtained during his pilgrimage to the grave of Syech Jumadul Kubro on November 21 2021.
“So, since then he has always made ‘contact’ with Allah every time a guest asked for advice. After Mbah Ibnu clarified, we concluded that there was a problem that mukholifussyar’i about the problem wushul or ‘contact’ with Allah,” he said.
To Mbah Benu, Fajar explained the methodology of determining the beginning and end of the month of Ramadan in accordance with what God and His Messenger commanded. Some arguments he quotes from the Qur’an and hadith.
Dawn explained wushul illallah is haq, something that is true, but still cannot be separated from the Shari’a. According to him, the person who confessed wushul illallah but breaking away from the Shari’a is like a broken kite.
Fajar exemplifies that the Prophet Muhammad SAW is a Prophet as well as a Messenger and there is no one who wushulhis achievements exceeded his achievements.
In determining the beginning and end of the month, the Prophet Muhammad did not make inner contact with Allah SWT, but instead asked his companions to do rukyatul hilal or monitoring the condition of the Moon to determine the start of Ramadan until Shawwal.
“The Prophet’s command to see the new moon was a revelation from Allah. It means determining the beginning and end of the month [hijriyah] through ru’yatul hilal it is a revelation from Allah. “Because what the Prophet Muhammad did, whether in words, deeds or silence, was a revelation,” he explained.
The moon is still visible
Previously, PWNU DIY stated that there were irregularities in the method for determining Ramadan and Shawwal for the Aolia Mosque Congregation which was based on claims about Mbah Benu’s spiritual journey and inner contact with Allah SWT.
For PWNU, determining valid Ramadhan and Shawwal is only based on two guidelines, namely rukyatul hilal national version of MABIMS (Ministers of Religion Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore) and istikmal.
Even though the crescent moon standards are different, these criteria require the new Hijri moon to change when the Moon has completed one full revolution around the Earth or the new moon phase.
“The NU is the guideline, while other calculations such as reckoning, other astronomical calculations, are only a means of confirmation because that is the proposition. The Prophet emphasized that starting fasting or Eid al-Fitr must be done with rukyat, so that scientific data is a means of confirmation, ” explained the Chairman of PWNU DIY Ahmad Zuhdi Muhdlor, Sunday (7/4).
With this method of contact with God, the Aolia Mosque congregation based in Panggang, Gunungkidul, DIY has celebrated Eid al-Fitr on Friday (5/4) or a big difference from the predictions of the government and Muhammadiyah which will fall on Wednesday (10/4) tomorrow.
“If the difference is only a day, a maximum of two days, it might still be reasonable, tolerated because it might be a difference, well this is five days,”
“You know, the moon is still clearly visible in the sky, but it’s already starting (Eid), but it’s still the month of Shaban. Where does that come from? Islam doesn’t recognize teachings based on dreams or splash I didn’t,” said Ahmad.
For this reason, PWNU sent representatives from the Aswaja Center and the NU Legal and Assistance Counseling Institute (LPBH) to have a dialogue with Mbah Benu in Gunungkidul, last Sunday.
