NU Chairman Says PKB’s Cak Imin Must Win in 2024 Elections: Affirmation of PKB’s Commitment to NU

Jakarta

Former General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Said Aqil Siradj said the general chairman of the PKB Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin must win in the 2024 elections. Said Aqil said that PKB is part of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and vice versa.

“Pak Muhaimin must win, and if he wins, the Nahdliyin people must think about it. PKB is NU, NU is PKB,” said Said Aqil at the 14th Haul Gus Dur event at the PKB DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Friday (4/8/2023 ).

Said Aqil then recounted when he and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and other figures formed Team 5 to establish PKB. Said said PBNU formed a team of 5 as the founders of PKB, which means PKB means NU.

“Why? Because when establishing PKB, forming a team of 5, Kiai Ma’ruf, me, Pak Rozy Munir, Pak Bagdja, Kiai Dawam, that was the official PBNU decree signed by Gus Dur. PBNU formed a team of 5 as the founders of PKB, meaning that PKB is NU ,” said Said Aqil.

On the same occasion, Cak Imin said that NU’s assertion was that PKB was to strengthen cadres so they would remain solid and close their ranks for the 2024 elections. Cak Imin said what Said Aqil conveyed was an affirmation of PKB’s commitment to fighting for NU.

“Yes, actually what was conveyed by Kiai Said, previously conveyed by Kiai Nurul Huda Jazuli, the oldest cleric in this Republic is 98 years old, the confirmation of nu PKB, PKB NU is reinforcement for the cadres below to continue to be solid, close ranks, elections are getting closer , don’t be careless, don’t be lazy or lazy, let’s crawl to the people to seize the people’s love and choice, “said Cak Imin.

“The affirmation, in fact the affirmation of its fighting commitment, its NU’s fighting commitment because PKB is a fighting mandate,” he added.
