Changanassery ∙ NSS Board of Directors meeting will be held on Sunday. The meeting will be held at the NSS headquarters in Perunna. The meeting is important as the NSS is taking a tough stand against the Speaker’s controversial remarks. The NSS has also been angered by the police filing a case against the Namajapa yatra conducted in Thiruvananthapuram.
NSS Vice President Sangeet Kumar had filed a petition in the High Court seeking cancellation of the case against the Namajapayatra. Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan may consider the petition on Monday.. The case was registered with Sangeet Kumar as the first defendant.
The case is that under the leadership of Thiruvananthapuram Taluk NSS Karayoga Union, a group illegally assembled for NSS Namajapa Yatra near Palayam Ganapati Temple at 5.30 pm on the 2nd of this month. They used the mike set in the vehicles and chanted slogans without permission. It caused obstruction to pedestrians and vehicles. It is said in the case that the NSS workers were not ready after being asked to leave and continued till 8:30 in the evening.
