The document defined the goal of foreign policy – the establishment of Ukraine in the world as a strong and authoritative European country.
The National Security and Defense Council approved the strategy of Ukraine’s foreign policy. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba on Friday, July 30.
“A historic event has taken place today. For the first time in 30 years of independence, Ukraine has received a clear, understandable and meaningful strategy of foreign policy,” Kuleba said.
According to the minister, previously, due to the lack of a strategy, Ukraine went through “vacillation from one side to the other.”
In particular, the document defined the goal of foreign policy – the establishment of Ukraine in the world as a strong and authoritative European country.
In addition, the strategy identifies six priority areas:
-
Ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
-
Counteraction to the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation.
-
EU and NATO membership course.
-
Promotion of Ukrainian exports and attraction of investments.
-
Protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad.
-
Promotion of a positive image of Ukraine in the world.
There are more than 250 points in the strategy in total, but they are all centered around the fact that Ukraine is positioning itself as an active participant in international politics; forms the security architecture in the region and the world; is a land of new economic opportunities.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry said that hundreds of experts gather for the Crimean platform… They plan to involve experts and diplomats from all over the world in the work of the Crimean platform. There are already almost 200 applicants.
28 countries confirmed their participation in the Crimean platform
