Bundesliga winter break. Football city championships ended. Difficult times for football fans?
No! Not at all! The Westenergie Hall in Mülheim offers football at its best. The NRW Traditionsmaster will take place there on Sunday, January 5th, 2025. It’s already the 18th edition!
As in previous events, the field of participants is prominent. Of course last year’s winner Rot-Weiß Essen will be there. FC Schalke 04, which lost in the final, VfL Bochum, MSV Duisburg, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, 1. FC Köln, SG Wattenscheid 09 and the local heroes, the Mülheim Allstars, are fighting for the winner’s cup.
You would have to invent it
The many fans who loudly support their clubs with chants, flags and trumpets are treated to football art at its finest. Hoe, tip one, two, three! It is not yet clear which oldies will compete, but one thing is certain: everyone wants to be at the forefront and bring prominent and technically experienced footballers to the start. How popular this unique tournament is with the oldies is illustrated by a statement from football world champion and Schalke icon, Olaf Thon: “If this tournament didn’t exist, you would have to invent it!”
