Gelsenkirchen A drunk prisoner who did not return to the correctional facility after an exit, volunteered at a police station in Gelsenkirchen. The 53-year-old told officials at Gelsenkirchen main train station early on Friday morning that he was wanted, the federal police announced on Sunday.

At the time, the man had almost 1.3 per mille of alcohol in his blood. The police arrested the 53-year-old and took him back to the detention center.

The police also announced that the man had been sentenced to one year in prison for theft, insult and sedition, among other things. He had already served four months of that when he did not return to the detention center after an exit.
