Nothing stops the NRMV: the team coached by Hubert Henno won, on Sunday evening at home, the first match of their Championship semi-final against Chaumont, swept away in three sets (25-19, 25-21, 25 -23). Impeccable in the quarter-finals against Sète, eliminated in three matches, the second of the regular season still honored his status, relying on the MVP of League A, the Brazilian Chizoba, author of 20 points (19 /33 attacks, 1 ace), well supported by the French receiver-attacker Thibaut Thoral (16 points). On the other side of the net, only the sharp Czech Patrik Indra (16 points at 45%) exceeded the 10 point mark for the CVB.
Nantes-Rezé is therefore only one success away from a first qualification in the final of the French Championship, while Chaumont, a regular at the meeting (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021) will try to reverse the trend from Wednesday in Haute-Marne, for the return match.
Tours got scared
In the other semi-final, the big favorite of the season, Tours, encountered the worst difficulties to overcome Tourcoing (3-2: 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 25-27, 15 -12). After two and a half sets of high quality, Marcelo Fronckowiak’s TVB stalled suddenly, leaving the TLM to come back in the third and then the fourth set. While the sharp Brazilian Drame Neto was a bit disappointing (16 points to 46%), the Touraine team got out of the trap woven by the men of Mauricio Paes thanks to his talented Argentinian Luciano Palonsky (20 points to 53% ). For the TLM, the German Moritz Reichert, formerly of the house of Touraine, pulled out all the stops in service (4 aces, 23 face-offs).
In the event of equalization next Wednesday in the North, the support match will take place on Saturday April 29, still in the Robert-Grenon room.
