NRK, SIAN | Strong reactions against Fredrik Solvang after SIAN debate

The NRK presenter asked the SIAN leader to name Muslims who should be deported from Norway. It provokes strong reactions.

Thursday night, the stage was set for a heated debate on NRK Debatten. The theme was freedom of expression, the marches organized by Stop the Islamization of Norway (SIAN), and the reactions of the counter-protesters.

One of those who participated in the debate was SIAN’s leader Lars Thorsen. According to host Fredrik Solvang, no one wanted to debate directly with him. Thus, the host did a critical interview with Thorsen.

One of the demands from SIAN, which has met with the strongest reactions, is that they want to “intern and deport” Muslims who, according to Thorsen, “profess Muhammad’s ideology”.

Host Fredrik Solvang asked Thorsen who he really meant, and asked him to name concrete examples. Thorsen emphasized that he had no list, but mentioned some as MDG politician Shoaib Sultan.

Social debater and author Sylo Taraku immediately went out on social media after the debate and warned against this.

– Extremists should never be allowed to make lists on TV about “dangerous Muslims” or “dangerous Jews”. It could potentially put the people in question in danger, Taraku writes on Twitter.

Comment: When the police protect SIAN, they protect democracy

Shoaib Sultan himself also immediately went out in a Facebook post and explained why he warned Solvang against going into this topic.

MDG politician in Trondheim, Hilde Opoku, reacted and believes Sultan was “hung out” on the Debate.

There are several on social media who have responded to the question.

«When Debatten and Fredrik Solvang let Sian name Norwegians who should be deported … Is decency gone in Norwegian off. exchange of words? » asks a man on Twitter. (Look below)

Celebrity doctor Wasim Zahid immediately made a statement of support for Shoaib Sultan on Twitter.

Gets bragged

Others, however, think it was good work by the host, who kept a critical tone to all interviewees – and did not let the SIAN leader’s assertions pass without critical questions.

In the comments field on Solvang’s Facebook profile, it hails in praise for the host.

“This was a really good debate!”, Writes one man.

“Do not think anyone could handle this topic better than Fredrik Solvang,” writes another.
