– On his reporting trips, he was able to draw the world closer to us. But he also learned methods for making “reports” from his desk with sound from the news agencies. Even then he managed to do it close, with Hybertsen’s signature, writes Skarrud.
“One of the most credible voices in NRK”
In 2011, Hybertsen received the broadcaster’s language award and hailed as “one of the most credible voices in NRK.”
“With his stylish language, and with the help of a sober and clear language, he creates vivid images in the radio listeners. This gives him high credibility as a reporter. He encourages closeness and understanding of the issues he conveys. And he is able to reconcile this with facts and accuracy,” it was said in the jury’s reasoning, wrote NRK.
– He was extremely respected
For many NRK listeners, Hybertsen was a familiar voice in the news program Her og Nå where he worked from 1984.
– Gunnar was a fantastic professional and a fantastic colleague. Bauta and institution are two words that fit Gunnar. He was extremely respected, not only at NRK Tyholt, but also among foreign affairs in Oslo and among the correspondents, says Erik Skarrud to Media24.
Gunnar Hybertsen retired in 2018. He died on 1 March after a period of illness.
