NRK: No more “Gauteshow”

– We are not going to do more “Gauteshow” now, says Gaute Berg Næss (27) to TV 2.

Despite the success of the series, which is now in its second season on NRK, the 27-year-old is clear that he does not see a future in the project beyond this. The series, which premiered its second season on August 8, is coming to an end for the main character.

– I feel a little done with that series. You will be a little tired. There are very intense registration times. We will be recording ten events in less than two months. Then you just walk in that mindset all the time, and look for the stupidest and worst things to say – all the time. Then I get a little bored, even if it’s fun.

The 27-year-old suggests that it may be time to put it behind him and move on to new projects. For him, the streak has already reached its natural end date.

Although a new season is not planned, the presenter does not rule out returning sometime in the future.

– We have thought about whether we should have a comeback season when we are 50 years old, to see how it is received. But now we have other things we want to do. Snorre and I are going on tour, I am working on fiction for NRK and we are going to do something else with the people who made “Gauteshow”, says Næss and suggests that he has more plans for the block

NRK also confirms that the popular series will be taken off the screen after the autumn season.

– It is true that we are now in the last season of “Gauteshow”. That was the plan all along. We are now working on new ideas with Gaute, says Christina Rezk Resar, editorial manager for humor at NRK Entertainment.

Næss Berg and his sidekick Snorre Monsson (24) have quickly become two of the most talked about names in the Norwegian entertainment and comedy industry. The talk show “Gauteshow”, which premiered on NRK in January, has captured the attention of the public and critics with its provocative and endless style.

Among other things, the program has made a name for itself for its cheeky humor, where famous guests are often made fun of in a way that many find out.

The Central Party was a particularly controversial time Sandra Borch was called a “dwarf” on airwhich created strong reactions.
