His name is known all over the world – and yet almost nothing is known about him. Because you can only guess what he looked like, everyone has their own picture of him.

For the fact that he is undoubtedly the “top celebrity” among the children published so far, surprisingly little is known about him. And what you seem to think you know is not even certain.
It starts with his birthday and his place of birth. Some say he was born in a stable in Bethlehem exactly 2020 years ago. Other sources, however, are certain that he saw the light of day in the 400-soul village of Nazareth in Galilee – at least four years earlier.
It also has a Greek name
His mother tongue was Aramaic, which at that time was widespread in the eastern Mediterranean, especially in the countryside. Accordingly, his name was Yeshua, under which he did not, however, become famous. Rather, he later became known worldwide under the Greek version of a name.
Nobody knows what he looked like either. It is believed that he had long hair, a beard and possibly dark eyes – just like a typical Jewish man from Galilee looked like. But this is not guaranteed anywhere. One is pretty sure against the fact that he was a “country egg”: He came from the country and went into the country. Nothing is known of stories related to cities.
His foster father was a craftsman
He learned the building trade from his father Josef – whether a carpenter or a stonemason is not entirely clear. In any case, he did not have a permanent place of work, but was traveling as a migrant worker. Whether he was married is also one of his secrets. There was a woman in his life by the name of Maria Magdalena, but how far this connection went, nobody today can really say for sure.
Until he was 28 years old, Yeshua remained one of many – until he met John the Baptist, was baptized by him in the Jordan and adopted his view of the world. From then on he went as a preacher through the country and questioned the applicable laws. An outrage at that time! As a political troublemaker, he was eventually arrested and nailed to the cross. He was only 30 years old.
