Because the voter could play into the hands of the voter! Stupid story and fact-free, moreover, heard many times, always by totalitarians who hate that other people are also allowed to vote, and hide their aversion to deviating participation behind higher and / or canonized goals such as “the EU”, “human rights” or “the climate”.
