Now WhatsApp opens access to proxy servers

How to save chat history on a blocked WhatsApp GB account

Instant messaging application Whatsapp announced that the instant messaging service WhatsApp has connected to a proxy server that acts as a filter between users and services of the website.

If you use a proxy, you can bypass censorship or bans on certain sites. WhatsApp deliberately opens up proxy access because it wants users to be able to continue using WhatsApp when the instant messaging service dies in one location.

“We hope this solution will help people who need secure and reliable communications,” WhatsApp said as reported by Reuters.

Currently WhatsApp users in countries like Iran and Syria are using VPN due to local government censorship.

In September, WhatsApp said it does not block mobile numbers with Iranian codes.

Iran has banned access to Meta Platforms applications, especially WhatsApp and Instagram after protests over the death of Mahsa Amini. The 22-year-old woman had previously been arrested by Tehran’s morality police for “inappropriate clothing”.
