Now there is a fan remaster of the unreleased Warcraft Adventures

Blizzard’s point-and-click adventure Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans was, as is well known, closed down there in the late 90s. A version of the game was leaked a few years ago and it was then revealed that the game was largely finished when Blizzard dropped the hammer on the project. The game was completely playable, but the sound was out of sync in some places and the in-game videos were painfully low-resolution. For the past six years, a die-hard fan has spent his spare time remastering the game.

Now, of course, there is only so much that can be done when the source code is not available, but DerSilver83 (as the person calls himself) has removed the artifacts in the cut-scenes in advance. The person has also used Photoshop to redraw several of the scenes in the films frame by frame. In addition to this, the sound has been synchronized and other small things have been fixed. There is a video below where you can see the result.

The mod for the game can be downloaded here. The latest version will also be the last as the developer says he wants to finish while the project is still fun and doesn’t feel like a burden.
