The sky of Egypt is now witnessing the conjunction of the moon with Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system (the giant of the solar system), in a scene that all amateur astronomers and those interested in this field of observation and photography await, if the occasion allows it, and the National Institute for Astronomical Research has revealed this phenomenon.
Dr. Ashraf Tadros, professor of astronomy at the National Institute for Astronomical Research and former head of the department of astronomy, said that amateurs and lovers of astronomy have an appointment today with the conjunction of the moon with Jupiter, in a scene awesome for stargazing lovers around the world in a phenomenon seen with the naked eye in the sky.
Tadros explained that we now see the conjunction of the moon with Jupiter (the giant of the solar system), as we see them side by side in the sky on Friday, November 4, until sunset at 2:45 am the next day.
The astronomy professor pointed out that in order to observe any astronomical phenomenon, such as the conjunctions of the moon with the stars and planets or the birth of the crescent moons of the Arabian months, a clear atmosphere is required and the sky is free of clouds, dust and vapor. aqueous.
He noted that astronomical phenomena have no harm to human health or daily activities on Earth.
Jupiter
Jupiter is the fifth planet in the solar system from the sun; The average distance between it and the Sun is 5.2 astronomical units, which is equivalent to 778.340.821 km, and this distance is five times the distance between the Sun and the Earth, one thousand kilometers, and it should be noted that Jupiter revolves around the Sun over a very long period of time; A revolution of Jupiter around the Sun takes 12 Earth years to complete.
Jupiter is one of the brightest celestial bodies in space, preceded by the Earth’s moon, Venus and sometimes Mars, and some consider it the second brightest planet after Venus. Eighty times the current one, it would have been considered a star, not a planet.
