A massive new telecommunications tower was inaugurated in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul on Saturday.
The tallest structure in Istanbul is located on the Asian side of the city on Mount Kok கோ amlıca. The 1,211-foot (369-meter) tower offers a unique view of the city and includes a restaurant and guard site.
“I pray that our Amlaka Tower, which serves television, radio and media companies and communications operators, benefits our country and our city. We have successfully implemented this project, not only in our country but all over the world, ”said President Recep Tayyip. Erdogan said during the opening ceremony.
Thanks to the tower, officials noted that Erdogan was “able to stop visual pollution in Amlaka,” which was previously surrounded by scattered, vast and outdated TV antennas. Since March 2016, when construction of the tower began, most of the antennas have been removed.

Praising the structure as the new symbol of Istanbul, the president said the government plans to use the same model “where conditions permit” throughout Turkey.
There will be a restaurant on each of the tower’s 39th and 40th floors, and surveillance sites will be installed on the 33rd and 34th floors. The tower will have exhibition spaces, panoramic elevators, and cafes.
A 180-degree view with a panoramic elevator on each side of the structure will allow visitors to see the historical monuments on the European side of the city and the vast expanse of the Black Sea coast to the north. Authorities expect the city’s tallest tower to attract around 4 million or more visitors annually to compete with the 261-meter skyscraper on the European side of the city.
