Now the heat is coming to Norway

Spain and Portugal have had extreme temperatures lately, with well over 40 degrees. It is also powerful forest fires.

This weekend, this will also greatly affect the UK, France and the Benelux countries, the forecasts for StormGeo show.

In the UK it has been sent out farevarsel due to the heat for the first time in history, with temperatures up to 40 degrees expected on Monday.

The heat hits Norway

In Norway we have had it cooler, but it seems to turn to the week. Storm meteorologist on duty in Storm, Olav Krogsæther, can tell us.

– On Tuesday and Wednesday, the very hot air from the heat wave in Europe will burn through us, and we will have temperatures up to 30 degrees in southern Norway.

He says that Wednesday will probably be the hottest day. The heat is settling all over southern Norway these days, and it is getting hot in the west, south and east.

The air will then continue to northern Norway.

– The air continues north on Wednesday, and on Thursday and Friday Northern Norway will feel good and warm, with around 25 degrees in many places in the north, Krogsæther says in Storm.

Stabilizes

The heat then moves further east, with falling temperatures from either Thursday for southern Norway or Friday for northern Norway.

So it will not be a prolonged heat wave in this country, but the meteorologist says that it will be even warmer weather than it has been. The weather stabilizes at a slightly milder level in the time ahead.

The reason why it does not get as hot as in the south of Europe is that the warmest air does not reach that far north.
