Soria has received 5,280 doses of the coronavirus vaccine this week, more than 1,000 doses more than the previous period. This is not a desorbed number of vials, but if before it seemed not to be enough, these last days they have to be stored due to the poor response of the population to the self-appointment campaigns.
Yolanda de Gregorio, territorial delegate of the Junta de Castilla y León, has recognized that the response of those between 12 and 29 years old is not meeting the forecasts. For this reason, he has not hesitated to appeal to all young Sorians. He asks them to “use the self-appointment, get vaccinated and we fulfill our image of responsibility.”
De Gregorio has clarified that “I respect everyone’s opinions”, but has asked the Sorians to “think that we live in society, we all relate to each other and the vaccine generates the necessary antibodies to achieve the immunity that we all need.” The territorial delegate insisted that “we have to be responsible, and not only with ourselves, so that tomorrow we can return to normality.”
More than 2,000 young people cannot be vaccinated
In addition to those people who “are afraid” and others who “are on vacation, there is an important group of Sorians who, at the moment, cannot be vaccinated against the coronavirus because they have suffered the infection less than 6 months ago. Specifically, the number of young people in this situation exceeds 2,000.
De Gregorio asks the Government to accelerate the decision to reduce this period to two months. “The young and not so young are at the expense of whether this reduction of deadlines is going to take place. If it were carried out, we could vaccinate many more people,” he says.
Serious self-appointment
The territorial delegate of the Board concludes by asking the Sorianos “seriousness” with the self-appointment for the vaccine. He states that “there are those who ask for their turn just in case and then do not come.”
