The Mirchel restaurant will shift down a gear from August. In future, only groups of 15 or more people will be served. If you come alone or in pairs, you will not be served.

The Mirchel restaurant gets a little air. From August 8th, a new operating concept will come into play. Only groups of 15 people or more will now be served. This applies to banquets, banquets and buffets. Co-owner Ferdinand Locher confirmed to BERN-OST: “We are forced to do this because of our age. I am well over 70 and Ms. Schaller will be 70 next year. We can no longer continue to run the restaurant as before.”
Anyone who wants to come to the Mirchel restaurant alone or as a couple will no longer be served from August. “Most guests understand this step,” said Locher. Sure, there are those who don’t think it’s that great. Closing the restaurant completely is not an option. “We would love to sell the restaurant,” says Locher in passing.
The restaurant is owned by Restaurant Mirchel AG, of which Ruth Schaller Locher is President. Her husband Ferdinand Locher is registered as Vice President. It’s not that easy, says Locher: “It’s an AG, our goal is to sell it.”
