Tennis players who traveled to New York early and who will go far at the US Open will be in ‘the bubble’ for thirty days. Their world has been small and shielded all this time. Except at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, they are only welcome at their Long Island hotel. There is no such thing as a cup of coffee or sneaky hamburger in Manhattan. ,,We’ll bring Manhattan to the players,” tournament director Stacey Allaster said during a telephone press conference on Tuesday. “With food trucks, a golf simulator and a games hall, nobody needs to be bored. We have two hotels completely to ourselves.”
