WhatsApp added a new option to silence specific chats forever, so that you no longer receive notifications if new messages are sent to them. The functionality is accessible from the settings of each chat, whether it is with a single person or group.
Inside a chat, simply touch its name (the one at the top next to the avatar) and from the screen that appears select the “Silent” option and then the duration of the period in which the chat will remain silent. You can choose between: 8 hours, one week and “always”.
The possibility of silencing chats had already existed for some time on WhatsApp, but until now it was possible to set a maximum term of one year. The news is being spread on both iOS (iPhone) and Android.
