Colin Farrell himself confirmed the great news.
In September, the spin-off series of the 2022 Batman movie, Pinvin, landed in Max’s offer, which placed the titular antagonist, <a href="http://www.world-today-news.com/the-penguin-surpasses-the-last-of-us-in-audience/" title=""The Penguin" surpasses "The Last of Us" in audience”>Oz Cobblepot, at the center of the story. The eighth and final episode of the gangster series starring Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti and Rhenzy Feliz was released on the streaming site today, which in theory concluded the miniseries focusing on Bruce Wayne‘s opponent – unless there is a second season, which we wouldn’t mind. No matter how things turn out, it’s certain that we won’t have to say a tearful goodbye to Penguin, as the character will also appear in the second Batman film.
The good news is Colin Farrell himself shared it with The Hollywood Reporter, adding that Penguin’s character will have roughly 5-6 scenes in the second act of the Matt Reeves-directed Batman saga.
„Matt Reeves is a brilliant writer and extraordinary filmmaker, and what excites me most about the second film is not what Oz does, or the predicaments he finds himself in, or the successes he will achieve, but that by the end of the eighth installment, someone else it became In the last scene, we can see the almost dazzling psychopathy. So how will this play out in the second film? I was told I’d have five or six scenes in it.” – said the actor.
And with this, it was definitively confirmed that Penguin will return to the sequel to Batman, and that’s not all: the head of the Gotham underworld will also accompany the trilogy starring Robert Pattinson from beginning to end, because as it turned out, Farrell is also involved in the third Batman movie signed. Of course, we still have to wait “a little bit” for the third act, but the premiere of the second film is already official: Batman II is due in cinemas overseas on October 2, 2026.
