May 27 comes the second season of the Norwegian youth series Ragnarok and just three weeks later we can enjoy another Nordic series – directed by none other than the legendary Baltasar Kormákur!
Netflix has released a teaser for the new series Boiler, the first Netflix series from Iceland.
Season 1 consists of eight episodes and will be released globally on Netflix on June 17.
The emotional, mysterious and psychological sci-fi series is created by the internationally acclaimed director Baltasar Kormákur (101 Reykjavík, Contraband and Everest) and Sigurjón Kjartansson.
One year after the eruption of the underwater volcano Katla, the peace and quiet of the small town of Vik has changed forever.
At the same time as the inhabitants are evacuating the area, the melting ice reveals mysterious things that have been frozen in the glacier for thousands of years and have consequences that no one could have foreseen.
Grima is still looking for his sister, who disappeared the day the volcanic eruption started. As her hopes of finding her sister’s body fade, residents in the area begin to be visited by unexpected guests. Maybe there is something hidden under the glacier that no one could have ever foreseen…
