Now 1 US dollar equivalent to 15,738 IDR

GIACARTA, KOMPAS.com – Rupee exchange rate against the US dollar the spot market closed lower on Friday (11/4/2022). For the first time since April 2020, Garuda’s currency closed above Rp 15,700 per US dollar.

Start data Bloomberg, exchange rate of the rupee the spot market closed at Rp 15,738 per US dollar, down 0.27%. With this position, the rupee has depreciated by 10.34 percent since the beginning of this year.

Referring to the average rate of the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor), the exchange rate of the rupee has also depreciated. In today’s trading session, the Jisdor rupee exchange rate was Rp 15,736 per US dollar, higher than the previous exchange rate of Rp 15,681 per US dollar.

The depreciation of the rupee is in line with the still high US dollar index, albeit slightly down. Referring to the investment data, the greenback as of this afternoon is in the range of 112.38.

Forexindo Futures Earnings Director Irahim Ascustombi said that despite the contraction, the US dollar index remained close to the highest level of the last two weeks. This is still due to the decision by the US central bank, the Federal Reserve, to raise the benchmark interest rate to its highest level since January 2008.

“The central bank expects US interest rates to peak higher than originally estimated,” he said in his research Friday.

Signal falcon The Fed’s long term makes investors even more cautious. The blow to Uncle Sam’s country’s economy should continue in line with this signal.
