Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, producer of the weight-loss drug “Wegovy”, has become the most valuable company listed on the European stock exchange, overtaking the French luxury goods manufacturer LVMH.

The share price of “Novo Nordisk” increased by 0.7% at the end of the trading session on Monday and amounted to 1,311 Danish crowns (175.9 euros), thus the company’s market value reached 428 billion dollars.
The company’s share price has risen after it launched the popular weight-loss drug Wegovy in the UK.
Wegovy should be taken once a week, and this medicine makes people feel full, so they eat less and lose weight.
At the same time, Novo Nordisk benefited from the diabetes drug Ozempic, which contains the same active ingredient as Wegovy and is prescribed by doctors to reduce excess weight.
The media reports that these medications are used by several celebrities, including businessman Elon Musk, and “Wegovy” has gained significant popularity in Hollywood and the wider community since its launch on the US market in 2021.
