Toyota’s position at the top of the list of best-selling car brands in Indonesia is still solid. The Indonesian Automobile Industries Association (Gaikindo) noted that as of November 2022, Toyota was in the top position with wholesale sales figures of 26,462 units.
Even so with retail sales in first place with 28,031 units. In total for 11 months of this year, Toyota recorded wholesale sales of 303,282 units or contributed 32.2% of total sales in the country.
Daihatsu also did not move into second place. Daihatsu recorded wholesale sales of 20,963 units in the eleventh month. Honda fills in one tier below Daihatsu. Honda’s wholesale sales reached 11,691 units.
Suzuki is slowly but surely starting to overtake Mitsubishi. In wholesale and retail sales look more than the manufacturer with the three diamond logo. In November, Suzuki’s wholesale sales reached 8,160 units, while Mitsubishi sold just 7,056 units.
Wuling is also seen chasing Hyundai again. After several months of delay, Wuling’s November sales reached 3,094 wholesale units, followed by 2,437 retail sales.
The difference with Hyundai is not too great. In the eleventh month, Hyundai sold just 2,000 units wholesale and 2,415 at retail. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s overall auto sales in November were down from the previous month.
If in October wholesale sales could reach 93,197 units, in November they were only 91,086 units. If total car sales during 2022 reached 942,499 units. This figure surpassed Gaikindo’s goal of 900,000. Here are the top 10 best-selling car brands in Indonesia.
