Novel Baswedan et al Join the Police, General Listyo Sigit Forms the Corruption Eradication Corps

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TVNational Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo congratulated 44 former employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who had just been appointed as state civil servants or ASN Polri.

The former Head of the Criminal Investigation Department hopes that the 44 former KPK employees will play an active role in strengthening the government’s commitment to creating an anti-corruption culture and supporting Indonesia’s economic growth.

“Welcome to join. We are strengthening government commitments and policies in order to create an anti-corruption climate, culture and ecosystem,” said Listyo Sigit when giving directions during the inauguration at Rupatama Building, Jakarta Police Headquarters, Thursday (9/12/2021).

In his directive, Listyo Sigit said the presence of the 44 people further strengthens the Polri organization which continues to be committed to eradicating corruption in Indonesia.

This spirit, he said, was in line with instructions from President Joko Widodo or Jokowi who wanted to eradicate corruption, not just law enforcement.

Rather, it also touches on things that are fundamental in order to resolve the root causes of corruption, in this case, namely prevention.

“Therefore, it is very important to strengthen the prevention division in eradicating corruption,” said Sigit.

Sigit said he was optimistic about the track record of 44 former KPK employees because his presence would further strengthen the Polri institution in the context of eradicating corruption.
