The Serbian tennis player gave an interesting interview to CBS television, in which, among other things, he commented on how he perceives contempt from the fans. He also revealed his relationship with his biggest rivals and touched on the topic of vaccination.
Novak Djokovic is known for not being afraid to publicly express his opinion, often polarizing society, causing misunderstanding and antagonizing tennis fans. At the same time, however, he has many admirers who appreciate him for his honesty, fighting spirit and determination.
In the show called “60 minutes”, the leader of the ATP world ranking spoke about several controversial topics that have been with him in recent years. One of them is the relationship with his long-time rivals.
“We are not friends. We are rivals and we have completely different views on some things.” said the 36-year-old tennis player about Roger Federer.
He also revealed that he was often turned on by Rafael Nadal’s pre-match behavior. “The way he bounces around before he goes out on the court. He’s doing sprints in the dressing room next to us and I could even hear music playing in his headphones. That pissed me off,” said Novak Djokovic. However, the Serb added that he would still like to have dinner with both rivals one day.

Novak Djokovic did not always have good relations with tennis fans either. “For most of my career, I’ve been in a hostile environment, but I’ve learned to be successful in it. But I enjoy it more when I’m in an environment where I get friendly support.”
Novak Djokovic caused outrage some time ago when he refused to be vaccinated against the coronavirus and was therefore excluded from the Australian Open 2022. “People called me an opponent of vaccination. However, I am neither against nor for, but I am in favor of freedom of decision,” explained the tennis player, adding that he also considers vaccinations in order to be able to travel unacceptable.
