Novak Djokovic is currently playing at Roland Garros. Because the impression of the ball is visible on clay, the French grand slam tournament does not work with Hawkeye technology, but with people of flesh and blood.
“With all due respect to traditions, I don’t see why we shouldn’t embrace the technology everywhere,” said Djokovic. “He is now so sophisticated that I see no reason to draft linesmen.”
“Ball boys or girls, yes. But linesmen? No, I don’t understand that to be honest. Without them I would also have less chance of experiencing what I wanted in New York,” he laughed.
Last month, Djokovic was ruled out at the US Open after hitting (unintentionally) a linesman.
