BELEHRAD – Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic had another famous season. He won three Grand Slams, reached the final at Wimbledon.

However, his coach Goran Ivanišević did not win the award for the best coach of the year, because it was awarded to the duo Simone Vagnozzi – Darren Cahill, who takes care of the performances of the Italian Jannik Sinner. Although he made a definitive jump among the four best players on the planet, was his season better than Novak’s? Hardly.

Novak Djokovic expressed his disappointment on the social network after the news was published. The report may have been written with a slight dose of sarcasm and irony, but even so, it cannot be denied that the Serbian legend was not the happiest about the ATP’s decision.

“Goran, I think we need to win four out of four Grand Slams to maybe (MAYBE) be considered coach of the year. Being number one at the end of the year, winning three Grand Slams and making history in this sport, hell, it’s not enough, my dear coach. ..” wrote a 36-year-old from Belgrade.

Sinner reached fourth place in the ATP rankings in the 2023 season and finished the calendar year with a record of 64 wins and 15 losses. He made it to seven finals, including the Tournament of Champions, winning four of them. He lost to Novak Djokovic in the final of the Tournament of Champions.
