After his first round win at Flushing Meadows, the world number one became the first player to claim 76 wins in all four Grand Slams. He beat Holger Rune in the round of 128, bringing his win count at the US Open to 76.

This year has been very special for the 34-year-old.
He began his campaign in Melbourne, where he conquered Daniil Medvedev to claim another Australian Open crown. In the months that followed, Djokovic captured another title and worked on his clay court game.
At Roland Garros, he accomplished one of the most difficult tasks in tennis: beating Rafael Nadal on the court Philippe Chatrier. After winning the title in France, he achieved success at Wimbledon just a month later.
Heading into August, Djokovic was in line for the unthinkable Golden Slam (all four Slams + Olympic gold). However, fatigue and workload took its toll on the Serbian as he was unable to take home a medal.
