The US Open at Flushing Meadows will soon begin with several players hoping to turn the odds and beat clear favorite Novak Djokovic in another grand slam, while Ashleigh Bartyes is the player to beat in the women’s draw.
Fresh off a sixth Wimbledon title, Djokovic is 5-7 with leading bookmaker Betway to win in New York in what will be the GrandSlam of the year.
Daniil Medvedev is now the second seed at 4-1 (7-1 after injury forced Rafael Nadal to retire) to deny Djokovic more titles.
Then comes Alexander Zverev, one of the brightest prospects in the men’s game, with odds of 6-1. The 24-year-old was out at 10-1 in early August but has seen his chances increase with the absence of players. like Nadal and Roger Federer.
Possible outsiders at the US Open include Stefanos Tsitsipas (9-1) and Matteo Berrettini (18-1).
Andy Murray, meanwhile, is 50-1 to win his fourth Grand Slam and second US Open, with the Scotsman still struggling to get back to form after injuries.
In the women’s overall market, Ashleigh Barty, this year’s Wimbledon winner, and Naomi Osaka lead the way, with the former slight favorite at 4-1.
Osaka, who did not play at Wimbledon, is 9-2 to secure her fifth Grand Slam at just 23 years old.
The two favorites appear to be way ahead of the competition, with Aryna Sabalenka 10-1 to win the title.
Meanwhile, Bianca Andreescu and Iga Swiatek are outsiders at 12-1 odds, and Britain’s Heather Watson has a long shot of 150-1.

“Much is also expected of Naomi Osaka, 9-2 to add to her growing roster of titles, and AshleighBarty following her success at Wimbledon. “
