How to emphasize even more the fact that Czech Television, with the money of taxpayers, who obligatorily pay concession fees, feeds a completely irrelevant discussion program, to which those who should go there refuse to go, and on the contrary, the same “experts” like to go there all the time. which the moderator likes.
The competition does not sleep
We are, of course, talking about the program Otázky Václav Moravec, which certainly had its place in the sun for many years, but now it has clearly been out of service for several years. Few people today consider it an important source of information to learn from, despite the fact that it takes up two hours of lucrative airtime on Sundays.
However, when Moravec himself cannot understand that he should give up his place to someone else, unsolicited and, above all, capable of maintaining neutrality, Nova TV set a mirror for him with its own discussion program Za five minut twelve, which is getting off to an extremely promising start. And it doesn’t matter at all that it is led by a moderator, about whom no one knew much until then. However, he quickly got used to it, and after a few broadcasts, he is leading debates confidently and, according to many, better than the tight-lipped Moravian.
Everything is very dynamic, and yet the guests can at least finish a thought or a sentence, which they often fail to do on Czech TV, as the moderator takes the floor again. At the same time, Nova did not have its own Sunday talk show for years, which, according to behind-the-scenes information, was the basis of an unwritten agreement with public television.

It’s time to leave
But now it was impossible to hesitate, as the public discussion is clearly not fulfilling its purpose. Andrej Babiš, for example, and a number of other prominent politicians have been refusing to visit Václav Moravec for years. The guests stick to it at best from the second set.
Now, however, Moravec got a really good deal. Nova organized a Sunday debate with two heavyweights, namely Babiš and Petr Fiala as a counterpoint. You couldn’t see something like this on Czech TV for many years, and now private TV managed to do it almost immediately.

At the same time, Václav Moravec apparently still does not understand that he should take it easy from public television. In the end, someone else will have to decide for him, who will realize that this parody of a talk show can no longer be sustained. And that something is really happening at Czech Television is also shown by the recent departure of Jakub Železný from his lucrative post as a presenter, which is presented as voluntary, but would have happened even if the presenter himself had not given his nod to it.
