The Syrian series “Aqsel Min Adi” directed by Nour Arnaout achieved great success, although it did not depend on the stars we are used to seeing.
In her first directing experience, Nour relied on the new faces of the Syrian actors, betting on the text, directing and performance.
The fifteen-episode series tells the story of a Syrian family residing in Lebanon, shedding light on family details between the Syrian and Lebanese communities.
In an interview with Sky News Arabia, Nour said:
- My goal was not to introduce something that was already on the market, and that was the challenge for me.
- I wanted to give a chance to the talented new guys who were not given a chance on any platform.
- I made sure to do experiments to read the text before starting shooting.
- The most difficult person in my audience is my father, producer Hilal Arnaout, and he took a long time to give me this opportunity.
- Syrian drama needs something different and a new point of view.
