Nougat company from Xixona (Alicante) plans to increase its production by up to 2.5% in the Christmas campaign, despite the “complicated” economic situation, marked by inflation and increased costs, and they hope to exceed three million kilos of nougat and a 5% increase in its turnover compared to last year. This was explained by Beatriz Sirvent, Marketing Director of the Confectionary Holding group, who pointed out that this year the almond, one of the fundamental raw materials for the production of this sweet, has suffered a fluctuation in its price in the market with “slight ups and downs.”Among the reasons would be the abrupt changes in meteorological temperature, a “difficult water management”, as well as the performance of other markets outside of Spain such as the American and Turkish markets.
