Sempachersee
The Nottwiler Gaming Hotel focuses on accessibility
The third edition of the gaming event at the Hotel Sempachersee takes place a little later than usual – and brings the neighbor on board.
Gaming is for everyone – already the first two editions of the Gaming Hotel in Hotel & Conference Center Sempachersee tried to convey this message. From e-sports to streaming to cosplay, all kinds of facets of the digital hobby were presented to visitors over the course of two days.

The latest edition will take place on November 2nd and 3rd – around two months later than usual. At the last two editions in September, sunny autumn weather had somewhat reduced the number of visitors to the indoor event. What is also new is that the neighboring paraplegic center will be more involved.
Panels on accessibility
The motto of the event is “Games connect – inclusion in the digital age”. Several guests will provide information about the latest developments in gaming and accessibility, according to a press release. Gamers who rely on accessibility will also have their say in a panel discussion.
This includes, for example, Melanie Eilert – the German gamer suffers from spinal muscular atrophy and will take part in the panel: “I would like to describe my impressions about helpful or missing opportunities to raise awareness and make the gaming world more inclusive for gamers with disabilities.” she is quoted as saying in the statement.
Tickets are becoming more expensive
In addition to this new focus, the previous activities of the gaming hotel will also be maintained: tournaments, virtual reality experiences, a cosplay studio as well as other lectures and talks with experts from the areas of game development, e-sports and education planned this year.
The expansion of the event entails a price increase: a 2-day entry costs 20 instead of 10 francs in advance. For families, a ticket for two adults and three children is available for 45 francs. The tournaments and talks are also streamed live on the gaming platform Twitch.
